Presidents Message
I wish to thank the membership at this time for electing me as your Lodge President for the term from September 2011 through September 2013. I along with the members of the Lodge Executive Board are looking foward to an exciting fun filled year for your lodge. We will continue to serve you our members to the best of our abilities. Should you need to contact myself or any other member of your executive board please call the lodge at 201-226-1946.
We now have a new Web site which is njfop46.com please visit this site often for current updates from your lodge.
We have now formed a lodge 46 charitable organization which allows all contributions to this organization to be tax deductable. Through the Lodge and this organization we will continue to have our Maurice V (Moe) Barry scholarships on a yearly basis. Also in memory of our departed Lodge advisory board chairman Lawrence "Larry" Metler who recently passed away we have created a scholarship in his name for a student wishing to pursue a careeer in the trades. This lodge will continue to support numerous organizations who help our members as well as those less fortunate.
We will continue to sponsor youth organizations as well as local charities. As always we will be available to assist any member in need or their family via our good and welfare committee. These are trying times for our brothers and sisters in Blue so I urge each and every member to attend meetings of the lodge, keep updated on legislation effecting law enforcement and the benefits of our members.
Look carefully at those running for elective office on the Federal state and local levels. See if they support law enforcement and vote accordingly. During these tough times we must have a united front and stand together with all of our brothers and sisters regardless of which organization they belong to. Remember there is strength in unity. If we divide amongst ourselves we will not succeed. But those who would like to see us fail will.
As I have always stated a Cop is a Cop is a Cop. Lets bury our differences and support each other. The time to do this is now not later. Lets make this a banner year for your lodge and assist each other in any way we can. Be Safe, wear your vests, and watch each others backs. I am Looking foward to seeing all members at our upcoming meetings throughout the year.
Support your lodge.
William Provost, Lodge President.
